I’m an experienced bass player seeking a permanent band project. Ideally, the music styles I would prefer to play would be: Funk, R&B, Motown, Fusion, Jazz and/or Latin styles. But I also have played and am proficient at: Blues, Classic & Modern Rock, Disco, and 80’s. I’m open to any music that drives my emotions, and that I’m passionate about. And I will be more than willing to play in a band in any of those genres, if the situation is right.

I would be open to any band configuration. I’ve played in power trios, as well as, full bands with a brass section. If it fits the music and style, I’ll be happy to play regardless of the amount of instruments in the band.

I do have a music education, and can read chord charts very well, as well as, bass staff. However, I don’t let the “theory” get in the way, as I consider myself a “feel” bassist… playing by ear and creating by what feels good and sounds good.

All in all, I’m a serious musician looking to play with other serious musicians, but who also knows how to have fun enjoying music. I always conduct myself in a professional manner. I have a name for the band (will tell you later), own the domain, have recording equipment, numerous guitars and a Line 6 amp (no practice space unfortunately). I can sing, design our website, record our demo, and work with you to help us be the best band in Northeast Ohio. I live in Cleveland (Rocky River – West Side) but want to play anywhere there are people and electricity (probably a few times a month). I do not put an age limit on this. If you have the drive, determination, professionalism, and the energy to keep up I want you on my team. I have a two word plan: "Let's Go."

The music will be people like Stevie Ray Vaughn, Albert Cummings, Black Crowes, Stevie Wonder, ZZ Top, James Brown, Gary Moore, and anything that makes you want to shake your butt. The goal is to have some blues (to play the blues clubs), but be funky enough for people to dance (without being disco), rock enough to attract bikers (but not enough to scare people), and to practice once a week. Eventually we will record some original music and sell CDs, downloads, T-shirts and more (I love marketing).

My dream would be to find a drummer (who could sing back up), a keyboard player (who could sing lead or back up), and a bass player (who could sing lead or back up). To speed up and enhance communication you should be able to download songs we send to each other to learn (so you need to be “Internet/Email Savy”.

King and other popular Memphis recording artists and is credited for introducing HUD to the profession of music.


Mr. Rakafela, born Alvin E. Kirton III in Oakland, California in July of 1973, was highly influenced in the early 1990s by the success of Tupac Shakur and Shock G from Digital Underground. Being deeply rooted in Tupac and Digital's cliques, Mr. Rakafela developed a Funk/Hip Hop mix which he displays in his latest masterpiece, "Tale of a New Legend" featuring Shock G, Humpty Hump, and Jailbird.
