Progressive metal band looking for Bass, Drums and Keys.

I’m looking for some musicians into doing some type of progressive, metal mix. I’m into some heavy stuff like Meshuggah, Blotted Science, and Animals as Leaders as well as some traditional progressive stuff like old Genesis, King Crimson, and Porcupine Tree. There are many others but this will give you an idea. I would probably play guitar, but could play bass if it would be a better compliment to the project.

Some sample of what I'm working on:

Seeking drums, bass, vox, and 2nd guitarist for original hard rock project

posted: November 21, 2009, 04:13 AM

I have posted several ads in the past, and have gotten a few responses each time, but every time I do, the person is all into it, then just disappears> So i will make this short and sweet:

I Am: 30 (Looking for people around my age, older or younger)

I Am looking for: 2nd guitar (lead, I play rhythm.), melody minded singer, bass player and drummer.
What I've done so far: written songs on my own with the aid of a hired gun drummer. Examples are here: www.myspace.com/ether79

I am also open to: suggestion. what you hear on my myspace are just what I came up with on my own. collaboration from other musicians will change things and add to it!

My influences are: Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Black Sabbath, The Melvins, The Meat Puppets, Foo Fighters, Local music, anything with a good hook.

Don't respond if: you're going to talk to me about jamming, getting together, then never call again after a while. you're a drug user, alcoholic, or drama magnet. Want to do a bunch of covers.

Do Respond if: You want to get together and write original, melody laden hard rock. (Hard, guitar driven rock with a a gritty vocal but tons of 'hook')

Contact me by: responding to this ad, friending me on myspace and sending me a msg, texting me at 216-978-9581

Ok, that wasnt as short as I had planned, but it's direct and to the point.

Thanks for reading.

looking to form original band

hello, im 28 and play guitar. i'd like to start a band to write and play original music. i don't have a real specific musical direction in mind, but would like it to be as unique and imaginative as possible, but also musically pleasing to listen to. I would like very much to work with a female vocalist (if you are a male vocalist and are reading this please do respond i don't have a dislike for male vocals i would just like there to be some sensitivity in the singing and songwriting that i have not encountered much with male vocalists i have played with so far). also, if you play drums, bass, guitar, keys, or more obscure instruments and would like to explore and attempt to create music that is mysterious and beautiful, edgy and thought provoking, and emotionally charged then please respond.

Drummer looking for the right, working, classic rock band. (Canton/Akron)

posted: November 11, 2009, 07:15 AM

Replyfishercomm@neo.rr.com

What I need is consistency and stability, a professional band that is working for money. What I bring is a percussion section that people enjoy and want to see again. Like everyone else, I must get out there and work, (best job I ever loved). I can start today.
I am a percussionist. This means that I can work any kind of drum or trap kit, including exotic instruments like djembe, cajon, bongos, congas and other world drums. I do know how to work an electronic kit, as well.
I have a professional attitude towards practice and gigs. I show up on time and know the material.
I prefer Classic Rock, Blues, and R&B, but I am also proficient at Today's Country and even rudimentary march music.
I am a thespian, (actor), which means I am a showman.
I am a team player, (if by team player you mean someone who wants the rest of the band to be as ready, willing, and able to work in an upbeat, positive atmosphere as I am). I do not work for free, once you start there is no end to it.
Here are some things people have said to me:
"I closed my eyes and I could see Ginger Baker playing those drums!" from a guy in the audience when I jammed with the Jak Band
"I wasn't sure who was coming to jam with us. It turned out to be John Bonham!" from Jeff Correlli, Lead Guitar of Cosmic Wheels
"Wow! Your band was really good but you were the shining star." Lady in the audience when I played with Heartland
"You are the best drummer we ever played with!" from Henry, Lead Guitar of The Serial Killers
"You have a lot of raw talent. I want you to come to New York and study under me." from Carmine Apice, he said that back in the mid '70s. I've gotten better since then.

If you have worked lined up and need the right drummer now please contact me with your phone number and web page link.

Looking for bass, drums, and keys for an alternative rock/experimental rock band. Key is creativity with the sound. Currently working on some original songs with more on the way. We are looking to play out in the future and record. We are both in our 20's. Sound thus far is sometimes mellow, ambient, maybe a lil psychedelic but not too much (we're not super heavy nor are we light pop rock). Influences include Floyd, Radiohead, Evanescence, Beatles, etc. SERIOUS inquiries only. Let's jam. What do you have to lose?

Drummer needed: pop punk style band

We are a 4 piece pop punk/pop rock style band looking for a new drummer. Our current drummer has too many other commitments to be able to persue music as a career (his loss)....this is NOT a cover band, we do only original music. We need someone who is reliable and dedicated between the ages of 19 and 29 (only please). we have a lot of things going on right now and can explain more to those who are interested. Must be a solid drummer who can play to a click when needed, and have good gear. (rock band drums just won't work haha) hit us up if your interested and we can send you a couple songs to check out.
