Journey Tribute Band needs Drummer!

We are a Journey tribute band in search of a (30ish-40ish age) Drummer. We need a Rock Drummer who can learn quickly. You must be familiar with the music of Journey and be able to get up to speed in short time because, we have gigs scheduled. We have recently undergone a few changes and are retooling. You must have professional gear including drum mics. We have been gigging and will be playing out 2-4 times a month, especially Spring thru Fall. There will be some travel, so owning a PASSPORT is a huge plus or be willing to get one. We are NOT a bar band and we will never do any other cover songs except the music of Journey or Steve Perry's solo stuff. Our set list is always evolving and changed around to suit the needs of the Lead singer. Practices are in Solon every Tuesday at 5:30-6:00pm and run till 7:30-8:00pm. Obviously, if you have drinking or drug issues do not respond. We will be playing Festivals and Fairs as well as other larger venues. Audition songs are DON’T STOP BELIEVIN, KEEP ON RUNNING, and SEPARATE WAYS. So, if you are ready to get in an awesome situation, shoot us an email and tell us about yourself!

Thanx,

Help me hit my Blues/Rock/Funk target

Guitarist 44 with close to 30 years experience (and more energy than most 20 year olds) looks to join forces with other musicians (bass, drum, keys) who love to play music to clubs. We’ll be playing a mix of blues, rock and funk. Think of how it would sound if Stevie Ray Vaughn played in James Brown’s band.

I’m not your typical guitarist. Because:
a). I don’t need to be on 11 to “get my sound”
b). I don’t do drugs, I get high making music.
c). I show up on time and I’m prepared.
d). I have no intention of doing a 12 minute version of “Tore Down”
e) I dont want to string together 20 I-IV-V shuffles and go gig.

I have a name for the band (will tell you later), own the domain, have recording equipment, numerous guitars and a Line 6 amp (no practice space unfortunately). I can sing, design our website, record our demo, and work with you to help us be the best band in Northeast Ohio. I live in Cleveland (Rocky River – West Side) but want to play anywhere there are people and electricity (probably a few times a month). I do not put an age limit on this. If you have the drive, determination, professionalism, and the energy to keep up I want you on my team. I have a two word plan: "Let's Go."

The music will be people like Stevie Ray Vaughn, Albert Cummings, Black Crowes, Stevie Wonder, ZZ Top, James Brown, Gary Moore, and anything that makes you want to shake your butt. The goal is to have some blues (to play the blues clubs), but be funky enough for people to dance (without being disco), rock enough to attract bikers (but not enough to scare people), and to practice once a week. Eventually we will record some original music and sell CDs, downloads, T-shirts and more (I love marketing).

My dream would be to find a drummer (who could sing back up), a keyboard player (who could sing lead or back up), and a bass player (who could sing lead or back up). To speed up and enhance communication you should be able to download songs we send to each other to learn (so you need to be “Internet/Email Savy”.

P.S. Skynard is not considered “funk.”

I’m ready to kick ass, are you?

Drummer looking for the right, working, classic rock band. (Canton/Akron)

What I need is consistency and stability, a professional band that is working for money. What I bring is a percussion section that people enjoy and want to see again. Like everyone else, I must get out there and work, (best job I ever loved). I can start today.
I am a percussionist. This means that I can work any kind of drum or trap kit, including exotic instruments like djembe, cajon, bongos, congas and other world drums. I do know how to work an electronic kit, as well.
I have a professional attitude towards practice and gigs. I show up on time and know the material.
I prefer Classic Rock, Blues, and R&B, but I am also proficient at Today's Country and even rudimentary march music.
I am a thespian, (actor), which means I am a showman.
I am a team player, (if by team player you mean someone who wants the rest of the band to be as ready, willing, and able to work in an upbeat, positive atmosphere as I am). I do not work for free, once you start there is no end to it.
Here are some things people have said to me:
"I closed my eyes and I could see Ginger Baker playing those drums!" from a guy in the audience when I jammed with the Jak Band
"I wasn't sure who was coming to jam with us. It turned out to be John Bonham!" from Jeff Correlli, Lead Guitar of Cosmic Wheels
"Wow! Your band was really good but you were the shining star." Lady in the audience when I played with Heartland
"You are the best drummer we ever played with!" from Henry, Lead Guitar of The Serial Killers
"You have a lot of raw talent. I want you to come to New York and study under me." from Carmine Apice, he said that back in the mid '70s. I've gotten better since then.

If you have worked lined up and need the right drummer now please contact me with your phone number and web page link.

Greetings,

I am a 25-year-old bassist, with eight plus years experience, who is looking for a drummer for a new musical project. The range of influence for the project is going to be left wide open including any or all of the following, Rock, Jazz, Metal, Blues, Acoustic, Indie, Alternative and many more.

The idea is to solidify the rhythm section and build the project through a strong drum and bass connection. We currently have three members, guitar, bass and vocals. However, we will be looking to implement other instrumentation as the music dictates.

If this sounds like a slightly good time then lets make it happen.

Make money with your talent.

My dear brothers and sisters in the music industry,

Are you sick of playing for free or a few beers? Wouldn't it be more fun to impress your lady or your man by earning enough money to buy them a nice evening out by using your well rehearsed musical talents rather than playing for free or a few beers? I recently emailed a bar owner to offer my band's entertainment at a fair price for our many years of practiced covers and original music. Our CDs are selling like hotcakes outside of our beloved United States. This individual said we needed to attend a jam night at their establishment in order to be considered for a paid position. There are several problems with this: 1.) We would be playing on crap equipment - this cat even said so - our thousands of dollars investment would be sitting idle and we would not sound like ourselves 2.) Tavern owners don't care because by this point their audience is used to schlock musicians jamming on crap equipment and they have not developed a taste for talented musicians 3.) I offered a free CD, or free tickets to a show we are doing, or they could spend their own scarce money on gas to come to our studio for a practice - of course that is the last I ever heard from them - their only interest was to get us to come play for free. 4.) I don't have enough $$ to buy food this week let alone for us to spend $25 each to converge on this cheesy bar, how about you? I pay $25 a week on gas to go to practice. I need some of that back.

We can beat this!!! Simple steps: 1.) Refuse to play for free - have some damn pride in your art - or do you lack the self-confidence to ask for money? 2.) Only attend jam nights when you are on a bender and so far from home that nobody knows you. You'll suck on their equipment anyway. 3.) Organize! The POTUS wants everyone to be in a community organization so be in one that demands payment for musicians. Tell your friends who play out - DON'T WHORE YOUR TALENT FOR FREE!! The difference between a prostitute and a slut is the prostitute GETS PAID! ARE YOU A SLUT? I hope not.

Didn't you invest thousands of dollars in your equipment and lessons? Haven't you spent countless hours being the best at your talent? Agents from record companies do not attend Jam Nights. Musicians around the world are getting paid to play and paid damn well. My band has been offered an EU tour - and this a-hole bar owner wants us to play for free. We love our country and would like to play for our fellow Americans but by musicians playing for free or to impress some chick or a few free beer farts this is not possible. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. The three of us have played with The Grateful Dead, Hawkwind, and Gladys Knight, and we teach music. We should play for free? Yeah! Right! Stronger message follows!

Get angry about this and tell your friends to refuse to attend bars or events where musicians are getting ripped off. Allowing this continued theft is not tolerable. While you are there the tavern owner is stealing your kids food money.

PAY ATTENTION!! DON'T SELL YOUR SOUL TO THESE DEVILS!! Your band costs at least $100 per member - YOU ARE WORTH IT SO DEMAND IT!! It will become the best job you ever loved.

Finally: May you find peace and love and may your guitar strings and drum sticks never break.

Exit Stencil Recording Studio

The Exit Stencil studio is located in the burgeoning music community on Waterloo Road in Cleveland's Collinwood neighborhood. We're located in what used to be a Lawson's corner store and can help you pull together a solid recording. The live room is spacious and has a great drum sound. I like to use a combination of digital and analog gear to get the sounds and glue things together. If you're looking for a place to work on your record drop a line and we can chat about what you're after. The studio is based around a late 80's NeoTek Series One Console, which is newly rehabbed and sounds great!

Feel free to drop a line with any questions and info. The studio rate is $30 an hour.

If you're looking for other audio work outside of band recording, like voice work, editing, etc drop a line too!

Now that i got your attention i would like to say the previous statement was false!
I have been told that i'm their favorite drummer to watch by many people but i think that was the alchohol talking =)

Let me say right now that music is my life and my way of living since i arrived on the cleveland music scene 7 years ago.

i choose to play the song and lay a solid groove down then do a drum fill every 3rd beat but hey that's me!

If you need a true-pro drummer who is 100% reliable and dedicated to playing music for life, look me up.

do not mind traveling for a great band!
