AKC registered American Cocker Spaniel. DOB: 1/6/07; weight: 34 lbs. Very beautiful, rich chocolate color with white tuxedo, up-to-date on vaccines & de-wormings. Healthy, clean & well-groomed. Not spayed, but also not a proven breeder. “Millie” is a very nice, friendly, loyal dog, loves attention and sitting on laps. She is house-broken & obedient. She is an “alpha dog” and somewhat territorial with small dogs but has been a very good pet for our pre-teen children & sleeps with our 11 year old daughter at night & is a good watchdog. She would make the perfect pet for an elderly person or family with no small dogs or cats or very young children. Millie has never been an outside dog, is not used to being tied or chained up or kenneled, and we do not want her to go to a home that would incorporate any of those things into her lifestyle. We love her very much and are going to be very particular about where she goes; therefore, we will deliver her to your home to make sure that she is not going to a puppy mill and that her new environment will meet our expectations. We are asking a re-homing fee for her. And will deliver her up to 30 miles from Butler Ohio 44822 for free and a delivery charge after that. Hello All,
I adopted this boy from the APL about 8 months ago as a buddy for my dog. They told me he was 2 years of age, the vet said more like 9 months (at the time), so he's goin on 2 years soon. He had previously been adopted and returned to the APL (within his first 9 months of life!! :-( for supposed aggressive behavior ( I believe with a small child , but no details were given, but I know that no one was hurt). He was fine with my other dog the first few days and for the most part, inside on a daily basis ( although he did a lot of sleeping being in the big bed and having a new home!), but once he was settled, it was chaos. He would go nuts if he saw another dog, person, kid , empty potato chip bag blowing in the wind, or anything else of interest walking by the window. If he was outside and couldn’t get to them, he would bark and get very aggressive (which obviously people wanted nothing to do with) and if he couldn’t get to them, he would then take out his aggression and attack my dog until I would have to get involved.. ( who is a bad ass, by the way...I think she just took it because she knew he was just a pup and could take care of herself if necessary - which she did on numerous occassions by throwing him on his back and just standing over him until I came over. Never any blood, bites, wounds, etc. Although, if the person or dog came over to meet him after his crazy behavior, he then, was fine. ( I can’t help but assume that the earlier years of his life were spent chained up based on this behavior) My other dog was miserable because she always got the brunt of whatever aggression or posession he was expressing at the time. I tried different training methods with him and nothing seemed to stick, but hey, I’m no expert. I think he would THRIVE VERY WELL in and environment with a single person or a couple with no other animals or any YOUNG children and someone who HAS THE TIME and is willing to give him the time, attention and correct training he needs. ( he has spent time with my nephewes arranging in age from 4-16 and been just fine, slobbering them with kisses and playing with them, but I don't want to mislead anyone, just incase) When he’s just one on one with you or you and a significant other, he is the sweetest and one of the mosture what loving dogs I’ve ever met. Also, he loves other people and other dogs, as long as he can "meet" them. He LOVES to snuggle! He loves KISSES and he even spoons!! I would love to not have to return him for the second time to a shelter, it would just break my heart amd I think this kid deserves better!!! He’s been staying with a friend for the past few months after my dog had enough, but he now is moving and must let him go. He needs a home by next Tuesday 10/20 at the very latest. ( I would have listed this sooner, but I just foud out the time frame) I would be ecstatic to find him a loving home that suits both him and the owner(s). I will request a rehoming fee $50-$75 to ensure he’s going to a safe and loving home and not one of these inhuman people that sell innocent animals for profit for animal testing, but I will donate that rehoming fee to a local shelter immediately – you can even make out the check directly to them!! I dont care about recouping my money, I just want him to be happy where he livesI and have a beautiful life! I hear all of these terrible stories about "free to a good home" so I just want to cover HIS basis to make sure he is safe and I just want this boy to have the right life he deserves. He's already been through enough prior to my adopting him. There are some pictures below. His name is Mr. Vito Coroleone, but he'll answer to just plain old Vito! :-) He is brindle in color, that's why we're not exactly sure what he is, but those tiny little brown eyes and floppy ears will melt your heart...I guarantee it!!! He is Cuyahoga county registered w/tags and his shots are up to date. He is already neutered. All he needs is the right people to show him the way and treat him the way any innnocent animal deserves. Please be in touch ASAP if you’re interested. I will be getting him back from my friend tomorrow (Wednesday) morning and don't want to disrupt my current dogs life, so the sooner I can find him a home, the better. Very protective, especially in a good way if you keep him in check and he knows what's ok and what's not. He's on top of everything!! :-) I can't stress enough what a great boy he is...provided he's in the right environment. Unfortunately my environment was not the right one.
