**Quality Engineer (Job Number: 191014W-01)**
The Quality Engineer provides technical support to Operations with respect to maintaining standards of product quality and improving the effectiveness of internal processes and product-related services provided by DuPont Valley View. This role champions elements of advanced quality planning and coordinates efforts to drive compliance of site processes as they relate to ensuring a steady flow of quality products and services to our Internal and External customers. The Quality Engineer generates and maintains process data and metrics, supports and leads Quality Improvement Teams, and drives quality improvement initiatives as part of a continuous improvement philosophy. The Quality Engineer is responsible for flow-down and implementation of quality requirements and customer specifications to both hourly and salary associates.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Act as Lead Investigator with regards to customer quality incidents and complaints and drive processes such as team meetings, data/root cause analysis, corrective action identification or implementation to facilitate resolution. May also drive the collection and reporting of related metrics.
Support process improvements through the effective implementation and maintenance of Quality and Delivery Clinic processes. As such, will coordinate the data reporting and analysis of major sources of process nonconformities and delivery failures and may facilitate improvement team activity to resolve.
Act as focal point to coordinate QA responsibilities associated with the maintenance of and improvements to customer controlled processes.
As champion to site standards compliance, expected to participate in or lead activity related to Internal Audit, AS9100/ISO9001 compliance teams, NADCAP accreditation processes, and other internal or customer mandated improvement/quality programs.
Provides technical support to laboratory testing and Metrology processes, to include method/instruction development and troubleshooting as needed.
Provides Quality approval of production documentation and as such may act as subject matter expert regarding process control, inspection/sampling, and internal as well as external requirements.
Act as primary coordinator to ensure effective processing of QA responsibilities related to Engineering Change notice approvals.
Lead (U)PPAP development and maintenance as required. Lead or participate in FMEA activity as needed.
Initiate, monitor, and execute Quality improvement programs/events, to align with and achieve COTs goals, customer ratings improvements, and compliance to requirements for control of variation key product characteristics (AS9103).
May work with Supplier Quality to facilitate corrective and preventive action relative to supplier quality concerns and inspection issues.
Support Manufacturing Engineering in the design of fixturing and gauging. Identify and acquire inspection and test equipment / gauging needed to achieve target quality levels. Update inspection and test techniques to improve productivity / accuracy and eliminate inconsistencies through development of standards of acceptability.
Support Internal Audit process, customer audits, and 3 rd party audits (AS9100 and NADCAP).
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Requires a BS in Engineering or other technical discipline, a minimum three years of experience in manufacturing, and a minimum three (3) years of experience with ISO9001/AS9100, experience with NADCAP preferred. Proficiency required in the use of Microsoft programs (Excel, PowerPoint) for data analysis and reporting. Must have or be able to achieve ASQ-CQE certification. APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and control plan skills very beneficial. Experiences with GD&T principles and blue print reading are preferred. SAP experience preferred. Six Sigma certification is strongly desired.
