Contribute towards transformation of advanced illness care for Anthem members by helping to develop and advance strategic initiatives to reduce gaps for access to palliative care and hospice services. Promote earlier hospice referrals through provider education strategies. Explore innovative partnerships with hospices and other external groups to improve experience and support for members facing terminal illnesses, as well as those providing care. Explore opportunities to expand hospice benefits across Anthem plans. Maintain industry awareness and identify opportunities for multi-agency collaborations to accelerate large scale change.
Partner and consult with Oncology & Advanced Illness Solutions team to progress other key initiatives and ensure integration with hospice initiatives, where appropriate.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
* Directs the development, planning, prioritization and implementation of new and on-going programs.
* Works cross functionally to execute key goals that may include internal and external collaborations and partnerships.
* Establishes program governance when needed to assure response to issue escalation; develops program budget and ensures program meets its stated objectives.
* Provides subject matter expertise in response to day to day business issues; researches applicable subject matter practices; and remains aware of industry trends.
* Manages business relationships and partners with health plan as well as corporate areas.
* Develops communication and training documents as well as presentations to suit varied audiences.
* Works with teams to develop business cases; measure and report outcomes/value on multiple initiatives.
* Provides leadership for activities that that involve resources across multiple departments or business areas
* BA/BS degree required; Graduate/advanced training preferred
* 10 years of experience in program management, project management; complex business processes, strategic and business planning or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
* 6 years of experience with health care industry and background with oncology and advanced illness care delivery preferred.
* Proficient with MS Office suite.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
