The Cleveland, OH office of WRL is looking for a Senior Project Architect to join our team.
Senior Project Architect
Job Requirements:
+ Clear passion for design excellence and can create a framework to facilitate that all design decisions are fully developed and successfully executed in the work. Promotes firm and project goals of excellence in design, execution, and sustainability.
+ Responsible for the development of a project, working with project designer and project director.
+ Advanced understanding and experience in application of planning, programming and design principles and methods.
+ Makes authoritative decisions, negotiates critical issues, with a high degree of judgment in collaboration with Project Director.
+ Directs the production of schematic, design development and construction documents.
+ Advanced knowledge of design process, construction documentation, construction administration and materials. Maintains awareness of evolving building technology and systems.
+ Understands and coordinates engineering systems relevant to projects.
+ Reviews shop drawings, material samples and CD's for conformance with design.
+ Performs construction administration duties.
+ Prepares reports and specifications; reviews completed reports, plans, cost estimates and calculations.
+ Executes applicable agency review analysis (accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.)
+ Generates construction plans and details, delivering complete, accurate and coordinated project documentation.
+ Assures execution of and assists with quality control activities for all architectural elements.
+ Conducts and documents field observations to monitor progress of construction.
+ Directs production of construction documents, drawings and specifications in compliance with project scope, schedule and cost.
+ Implements meeting objectives, facilitates meetings and provides meeting notes documentation.
+ Maintains contact with clients, consultants and contractors during all project phases.
+ Strong project budgeting. Contract negotiations skills a plus
+ May participate in marketing, client and owner presentations.
+ Directs organizes and mentors junior staff with responsibility oversight of their assignments.
+ Strong interpersonal skills, verbal, listening and written including client presentation skills
Essential Job Requirements:
+ 10-12+ years of experience
+ Professional Degree in Architecture
+ Strong designer
+ Strong Detailing ability
+ Advanced experience in project design, construction documentation production and construction materials.
+ Working knowledge of REVIT, Adobe CC and AutoCAD
+ Understands project management process and can apply project management software skills
+ Experience reviewing construction documentation
+ Experience directing or managing junior staff
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills
+ Collaborative and professional work ethic
+ Registered Architect and LEED AP registrations preferred
